All About Nina May
Nina May has been a Designer and artist working in the Apparel, Toy and Home Decor Industries in Los Angeles for 32 years. She started in her childhood home studio hand-painting tee shirts for friends. It was suggested to Nina her hand-painted faces and fun patterns on Tees, Tuxedo Jackets and Sweatshirts would sell well to stores. 8TEEZ by Nina was born. Nina designed custom apparel for Fashion Forward and Punk boutiques on the famed Melrose Avenue and Beverly Hills, California: Fred Segal, Melons, Cowboys and Poodles, Harari, Modasport and Saks Fifth Ave.
Ms. May has also designed for various apparel manufacturers over the course of her career. At India Ink in Los Angeles, she was head Designer creating Women's and Children's Activewear Collections that sold Nationwide to all the Major Department stores including; Macy's, Bloomingdales, JC Penney and many more.
After many seasons in designing for wholesale Women's fashion, Nina received an opportunity to design for Mattel Toys in the Barbie Development Group. Working with many Barbie Designers on Textiles, Doll Fashion Prototypes and Graphics. Digital Designing and Hand-Painting fabric in doll scale for many Toy Companies has made Nina a well rounded experienced designer with a variety of skills.
Nina May is currently a Freelance Surface Pattern Designer for Girl's Fashion Doll Prototypes, Textiles for Home Decor and Active Sports Apparel in her Hometown of Los Angeles, California.
